The CG-PEB was formed in 1966 by an Act of Parliament, namely The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board Act, 1965 (Act No. 20 of 1965). In April 2017, it was renamed as The Chhattisgarh Vidyapeeth. It conducts various examinations at secondary, under-graduate and post-graduate levels in various streams like arts and science. These exams are conducted every year to recruit eligible candidates for different posts such as teacher, inspector, medical officer etc. in state government offices. Recently they have released a notification regarding their recruitment drive for 400 posts of Sub Engineer (Civil).
