Introduction

Indian Navy tradesman recruitment: The Indian Navy is looking for people to fill craftsman positions. The organisation will fill 1,531 positions as a result of this recruitment effort. Educational Qualification

(a) Required: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Institute or Board, as well as English proficiency.

(b) Apprenticeship training in the trade should have been completed.

or

Mechanic equivalent with two years of regular Army, Navy, or Air Force duty in the appropriate Technical Branch.

Age Limit

As per Government of India law, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 year for SC/ST; 3 year for OBC; 10 year for Person with Disabilities (15 year for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 year for OBC PWD’s) and Ex-S. Selection Process

The selection of ex-Naval apprentices will be done in accordance with the current Competent Authority criteria. The following are the other provisions:

(a) Screening of Applications

Indian Navy would not carry out rigorous scrutiny of applications received online to allow candidates to stand for the examination. A second stage will involve a thorough examination of the documents.

(b) Shortlisting of Applications

In most cases, all qualified ex-Naval apprentices will be able to appear for selection. Simply meeting the basic selection criteria does not guarantee that a person/applicant will be invited to take the written exam. If the number of applications received is excessively high in comparison to the number of openings, the Appointing Authority reserves the right to shortlist the applications as necessary, with only the shortlisted candidates being invited to the written test.

(c) Scheme of Written Examination

All qualified candidates must take a written exam consisting of objective type questions based on the essential qualification listed under the heading ‘Educational and other Qualifications,’ namely matriculation level. Only multilingual (English and Hindi) tests would be given (except for General English). Syllabus for the Examination

(i) General Intelligence and Reasoning

This section would comprise inquiries of both verbal and non-verbal nature. Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualisation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, related concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, and other topics would be covered. Questions in this section will assess the candidate’s ability to cope with abstract concepts, symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computation, and other analytical functions.

(ii) Numerical Aptitude

This section will comprise questions on number systems, computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratios and proportions, averages, interest, profit and loss, and discount. time and distance, ratio and time, time and work, and so on.

(iii) General English

This portion would feature questions about vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and proper usage, among other things, in addition to testing candidates’ understanding of the English language.

(iv) General Knowledge

This portion would cover questions about India and its neighbours, including sports, history, culture, geography, economics, general policy, including the Indian Constitution, and scientific research, among other topics. The question will be of such a nature that they will not necessitate any specialised knowledges from any disciplined.

(v) Syllabus of the training at Naval Apprentice School In relevant Trades

The section would include trade related question as per Apprentice Schools/ NCVT syllabuses.

Document Verification

Document Verification will be required of all provisionally selected candidates. At the time of Document Verification, all documents referring to age, education, identification, address, category, caste validity certificate, Apprentice school certificate, and so on must be presented in original. Provisionally selected candidates will be notified of the date and location for document verification via mail, email, or the Indian Naval website www.joinindiannavy.govin > Join Navy > Ways to Join > Civilian > Tradesman Skilled.
