Educational Qualification

1. Automobile Engineer in Motor Vehicles Maintenance Department

a)Must have a degree in automobile (or) mechanical engineering (or) be a bearer of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu’s Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering; (or) Licentiate in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

b)For a period of not less than five years, must have expertise in the administration of an office and the management of workshops related to the maintenance and upkeep of motor vehicles.

2. Junior Electrical Inspector

Electrical engineering degree is required. Preference will be given to those who have completed a one-year apprenticeship under the Government of India Scheme or the State Government Apprenticeship Scheme, if all other factors remain equal.

3. Assistant Engineer (Agricultural Engineering)

a)B.Sc., B.E. (Agriculture), B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering), or B.E. (Agriculture) (Agricultural Engineering)

b)B.E. (Mechanical) or B.E. (Civil) or B.Tech (Automobile Engineering) or B.E. (Production Engineering) or B.E. (Industrial Engineering) or B.E. (Civil and Structural Engineering) or B.E. (Civil and Structural Engineering) or B.E. (Civil and Structural Engineering) or B.E. (Civil and Structural Engineering (Mechanical and Production Engineering).

4. Assistant Engineer (Highways Department)

a)A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.

b)A pass in Sections A and B of the A.M.I.E (India) Civil Engineering Examinations (renamed as Institution of Examinations)

5. Assistant Director of Industrial Safety, Health

Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Textile Technology is a degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, or industrial engineering.

6. Assistant Engineer (Civil) (Water Resource Departments, PWD) 

a)A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil and structural engineering is required.

b)Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations in the Civil Engineering branch must have been passed.

7. Assistant Engineer (Civil) (PWD)

a)A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil and structural engineering is required.

b)Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations in the Civil Engineering branch must have been passed.

8. General Foreman, Technical Assistant in Motor Vehicle Maintenance Departments

a)A mechanical engineering degree is required.

b)Engineering for Automobiles

c)Automobile Engineering

d)A Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering from the Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education and Training or any other recognised institution or board, plus two years of supervisory experience in an automobile workshop.

9. Assistant Engineer (Rural Developments, Panchayat Raj Departments)

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required (or) He must have passed Sections A and B of the Institution of Engineers (India) Civil Engineering Branch, and he must demonstrate that he has completed at least one year of practical surveying instruction.

10. Assistant Engineer (Civil) (TN Urban Habitat Developments Board)

Must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering OR must have completed Sections A and B of the A.M.I.E (India) Exam with the following:

i) A passing grade in the H.Sc. examination

ii) Must have passed ‘Geology’ as an optional or supplementary subject in Section B.

11. Assistant Engineer (Civil) (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authoritys)

Must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil or highways) and at least five years of experience in Category-3* or a position equivalent to that of a Junior Engineer.
